Bags & Booms

Celebration of the Holiday  “July 4th”  are quite tame for me..I am at the age where “observation & sound” instead of Participation and Planning are my role.  Yeah.  No crazy run around and preparing for a crowd of people who eat, drink, and mess up my space!!   I can Laugh and fill in, enjoy and walk away from any of the messes.

Backyard Bags (like a horse shoe game) and the fireworks also seen from the back yard was how I  celebrated this years Holiday.   It Rained all day on the 4th.   So I was happy to stay close to home and hearth.    A dip in the Hot Tub for a kink in my back  was my biggest plan for the day.   No huge crowds and traffic to face. 

I’ve become a bit cynical about all celebrations and holidays that require you to spend money for viewing a firework show.. To get close enough to enjoy any of it, you have to make reservations and pay a year in advance!!    What is wrong with this picture??  LotS!!  and LOTS of People– all trying to be the same place all at the same time.   It’s MADNESS…esp with the population explosion that is now all around us..no matter where we live.     I guess I miss the small town, everyone knowing everyone and scaled down holiday celebrations..   where the Veterans Club put on the firework display at the local ball park near the river.. so you could park on either side of the river and enjoy the display right after dusk=  for FREE!!
