New week

It's all about ME

How I spent my week end lounging around and taking up space is very evident by the snaps…Love My HT.

I did get out and do some shopping..while dd#2 got the grub, I browsed thru the Salvation Army store next door.

SU rubber for $1.00

 I couldn’t pass these 2 stamps without picking them up and giving them a new home.  SU rubber is collectable!!  The last I saw these 2 in a catalog, they were over $20.00 each!!   

I created and put together digital scrapbook items to sell at www.scrapdebris.com in my Granny Judy Designs area. I now have over 10 items available and am working on another kit- you know how ideas keep “banging” around in your head and you start trying to make sense of them?   I have a real banger happening right now, but nothing is materializing other than a couple of elements.  I think I am stuck til I develope a color palette….. so will concentrate on that part today.

July 4 holiday is just a few days away and I’ve plans to hang out here, cook out, view the fireworks from the back patio, and just relax.  Of course the HT is on the List of “things to do”.. that’s a given!!

Meanwhile I have a little advetising to do at my other blog.. www.GrannyJudy.blogspot.com  It’s strictly business over there with my learning and doing work for other designers and MY- self.  I’m stretching and growing all the time..in the digital world.  

Best get that coffee inside me and make the most of today..DD#2 is off to work.  SnIL is doing errands.  And I have the house to myself.

Gotta check the little garden areas for eatables..and wash the birdie do-do off the back patio.  My “cup runth over”!!

Thursday’s Plan

Enjoy the HOT TUB!!   It is up and running, water’s hot, weather just right and Now I have to find My S/Suit..    Now where did I hide  it??

I updated the Family Genealogy site with a Generation Pedigree chart that starts with me… www.judyscrapbooknook.com   Just look on the left of your screen for all the pages and sign My Guestbook, please.   Whether you belong to this huge family or just a friendly visitor- I’d love to hear from you. 

I got all my kits together and off to the store for digital scrapbooking.  It’s a start and I’m excited to see what it all looks like in a  store.  www.scrapdebris.com  .   Should go live sometime today.  But I’m thinking it will be full grown on Monday.   It’s a “bargain” type shop with kits/elements for a $1.00 and CU items for $2.00.   You don’t get an immediate download, but paypal sends me a notice of payment and I send you the link for the kit.

Tomorrow (Friday) I have a doc appointment at 11:30 for an eye check up.. then nothing til July when I get checked out by the Thyroid specialist.  These are down to every 6 months, so Am I Stable– that’s a matter of opinion.    Health wise I’m in good shape for the shape that I’m in.. aging not so gracefully.

The streets here in our housing area are getting fixed..pot holes filled.  And it’s blacktop material.  Stinks, noisey and doesn’t last, but maybe they have found a better way to get it to last.  We’ll see.

I think I’ll dig my way into the sewing area and finish up a couple items then get that all put away.. it’s collecting cat hair and dust.  I didn’t get it finished and put away before the dog had to have surgery and the front room areas became the “recovery room”.   Including my sewing area used for overflow of furniture.    Another couple of weeks and I get it all back!!  but I don’t wanna wait.

See, taking that Vit B Complex pill  IS working.. I have more energy and wanna do’s.    Gotta juice up MY BIKE.. and see if the BOYs will let me ride along with them–for a couple of blocks anyway

Isn’t this lookin’ Inviting??   got the power, got it cleaned and ALL we need is water!!   Got to darn HOT and HUMID to finish up this morning.. so we will head back out this evening when it cools down.  I gotta get water flushed thru all the lines then watch it fill up..

It’s hot enough to just jump in without any jets and heated H2O!!  I’m really ready to put up a bird net!!  Darn DIRTY Birds had to give their opinion on top of it–cover is a mess this morning.    I guess we will have to do a daily hosing down out back til those creatures figure out it’s time to move ON..  DON’T MESS WITH THE GRANNY AND HER HOT TUB!

Monday Pepper had her stitches removed and is wanting to try out her leg..but NOT YET.   We kennel and keep her on a leash to prevent her from over doing it on that leg.  It isn’t ready to let her have her “freedom” for another 4 weeks.  

Well, I’ve procrastinated long enough this Morning..the kitchen and floors are needing My Special Attention.   Got a late start on today: just now getting my 2nd cuppa down and eye lids are finally wide open.    Hope ya have a great day..

DD#2’s friend paid for use of the Ancestry.com files and wanting to get His Money’s worth, did a search on Her Family Tree..which went back another generation or 2 from what I had found.  So he printed off the charts and they are now in my hot little hands!!    I’ve been scanning and getting them ready to put up at My family tree spot. www.judyscrapbooknook.com     Hope to get them done this week, and posted before the week end..

A big ol’ storm woke me this morning around 4 a.m.  so I’ve gotten an early start on today.. but I poop out before the end of a day, so a Granny Nap will surely have to be fitted into my schedule.  That is if the electrician doesn’t show up to hook up the bigger Hot Tub.   I’m getting annoyed at the wait.  Need My Massage!!  Need it Now!!

He promised by this week end– so I wait and want.   Definately will appreciate the soak when it all gets done!!  You betcha..and I’ll do a bit of braggin, too!   Meanwhile.. woe is me..     Granny

New Week-Pets N friends

The young man who was staying with us found a decent paying job back up around Chicago near his parents..so he moved back this week end.   Starting his new job today.  Going back to school this fall using his GI bill and maybe getting his life turned around. 

John has his basement “cave” back to unwind and exercise in, I can do laundry anytime and we all spread out again. 

EXCEPT For The FRONT ROOM Recovery room for pets, we are almost back to normal around here.

As you can see, Pepper is recovering faster than we are expecting..still have to keep her from putting any weight on that back leg.. Yeah!  Right! 

I played my first game of pool in over 2 years on Saturday out in the Garage Rec Room.. Party place of SnILs.   I thought since the eye surgery I would test out the peepers on something I thought I could still do/loved to do.   And ya know, I still can’t make a straight in long shot!!   But it was fun trying.   

And I learned a new outside game called BAGS.. like horseshoes only you use bean bags.   I should get some snaps of that!!   It was really nice to go out and enjoy the “facilities” without having alot of drinking and peeps talking loud.    I think I would have made a good “hermit”..too many people talking around me and I get a headache and feel uncomfortable.    I like people, just not too many all at once.  And crowds don’t bother me for short periods of time..Like at Fairs and movies.  There I can chose to stay or leave.   

Got lots of catching up to do on  house work/cleaning and still trying to figure out how to organize this computer since I am doing more and more designing digital scrapbook stuff.    It’s an older beast and needs constant care so that I don’t overload it with files.. will  hook up the EHD and moving things around..

Cat is yeowing me for something to eat..so better get this day started. I see it’s gonna be one of those “catch up” days..

Got a call from my Cous in TX.. she has found a really cheap place for me if I come down there thru the Winter.. I don’t want a permanent place, just somewhere warmer than here for the Winter Months!!  And Honey, it seems like a Happening Thing this year.   Got a few details to work out but Come this NOV.. I’m outta the Cold Climate of Ill.  

I see DD#1 is back in school..going the medical route.  So I don’t think I’m gonna see much of her around the cyber world.   Good 4 U, sweetie!! 

Now I’ve gotta get some BBook pages done and gather up all the parts of that blog train.   Summer Love.

day 2 – Pepper

Pepper is awake and made it outside to do Her Duties.. with a towel wrap sling around her middle to keep the weight off that leg.  We were happy that all systems are working, but the whinning just breaks your heart.

 

Even when asleep, she’s making those painful sounds.. I think DD’s arms are falling off from petting her all thru the night.   SnIL did the grocery shopping today and then took over the Pet Sitting duties.

We turned the front room into a Doggy recovery area..

 A 67 lb dog is not easy to handle.. Pepper is all sedated with pain meds and just wants Her MOMMY!!   .   It’s gonna be a long 8/9 weeks. 

           Absolutely  NO weigh on that leg.  It’s sewn together without plates or screws.  We got it taken care of early so arthritis and calcium build up did not happen.   So scar tissue will grow around the inside sutures and take the place of the legiment -fusing the muscle to the bone.  The suture goes thru a hole the Vet made thru the bone and if it tears or breaks, we will have to do the whole procedure AGAIN..

Tonight we will have to see if we can get a little bit of water in her and maybe some soft food in tiny amounts.   Thankfully SnIL  is here to lift her up and take her out for a potty break.   We made a sling out of a towel to support her weight when she is able to stand..but one of us will have to be there to hold her up.. LOL.  

We are just happy things went well and that once healing occurs, she should be her old spunky self with full use of that leg.   We just have to watch Mocha since it’s always been run, jump and play fights between the two…and WHY not continue??   Whats wrong with being the alpha dog??  We’ve always had this competition.. And this is the perfect time to take over the Top Position.

LOL.. the animal kingdom is too simple. But I see people immulate this same behavior…    I give over the Alpha role to DD with pleasure.  It’s not as hard to follow, no big decisions and responsibilities are minimal.. just love each other.  Support each other and respect all our differences.

This is the one!!  Genetic weakness in the back legs often leads to torn tendons & muscles from just normal racing around the yard.   I found her under the back patio stairs (where she loves to nap) in the afternoons,  unable to get out.. after some assistance and lifting on my part, she hobbled out and gave me that same look (without the ball in her mouth).. My heart sank.

She didn’t put any weight on her right back leg..I thought it was broken or worse.. At least there was no blood.   Called DD and off to the vet they went while I held onto the other fur baby, Mocha (who just wanted to ride along)…  

Diagnosis: torn ligaments & tendons in the “knee” that will require surgery to repair…approx $2,000 plus ER expenses.  Otherwise Pepper would never be able to use that leg, would develop arthritis and be permanently crippled.   Not a good thing for such a young dog..approx 4 yrs old now.   Surgery scheduled for this Friday.  8 weeks recovery with NO WEIGHT bearing.

I chuckle, yet burst with pride and love when SnIL hauls the mattress off their bed from upstairs down to the front room.. Pepper isn’t able to go up stairs and has trouble going down with just 3 legs.  The two of them will sleep downstairs and look after Pepper in the Morning and Evenings/Nights.. while I have Mocha shut up in My Room with me for the nights. 

 Pepper is strictly DD’s shadow when she is home.   DD gave her a pain pill and then they all settled down for some sleep.. in the new “bed” in the front room…  Mocha in my room stretched out on a shaggy rug..and fast becoming MY SHADOW.  –eeeks, It’s gonna be a long 8 weeks.
